Wheeler’s school-based health centers provide individual behavioral health services as well as linkage to other services in the community, including connections with primary and dental care, and a broad continuum of outpatient and community-based care. Services are trauma-informed and available on an individual and group therapy basis.

Complete health care for all ages
For newborns, children, adults, and families
We’re here to help you stay healthy and feel better when you’re not. At Wheeler, doctors and nurses care for you and your whole family (from newborn to senior citizen!), whether it’s a check-up, a vaccine, or help managing conditions like asthma or diabetes. Our integrated approach to care can even bring in behavioral health and medication for addiction.
Individual, family, and group treatment for all ages
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, down, or just not like yourself, you’re not alone—and we’re here to help. Our clinicians and psychiatric providers offer therapy, coping tools, medication when needed, and innovative technology in a safe and respectful space where your mental health matters.
There is hope
If you’re struggling with drugs or alcohol, you’re not alone—and we’re here to help. Our caring team offers support, individual and family counseling, group treatment, and a plan that fits your life, so you can take back control and feel better. For example, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) (also called medications for substance use disorder) helps people recover from addiction by combining medicines like Suboxone (buprenorphine) and Vivitrol (naltrexone) with counseling and support.
Suffering from headaches, or back and neck pain?
Chiropractic care at Wheeler can help with pain or discomfort for adults, teens, and children. You don’t need to be a current Wheeler patient to start, but if you already come here, it’s easy to add chiropractic care to your plan so you can feel better and move easier.
Food is health
At Wheeler’s Family Health & Wellness Centers, we help you take charge of your physical and mental health—starting with food. We’ll show you how what you eat affects how you feel and help you build healthy habits that fit your life.

Keeping you not just healthy, but well
Your care at Wheeler doesn’t stop at the exam room. We help you connect with services outside of Wheeler, and we take the time to understand the things in your life—like housing, food, transportation, or work—that affect your health. Together, we’ll make a plan to support every part of your well-being.
Our Community Health Workers are here to help you find the services and resources you need—right in your neighborhood. You're not alone—we're here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
If you're going through a tough time, Wheeler’s Basic Needs Fund may be able to help with essentials like clothing so you can work, food, transportation, and more—thanks to the generosity of our donors. When life gets hard, you're not alone. We’re here to support you with the basics so you can focus on your health and healing.
Weekly during the growing season, and occasionally during winter, Wheeler patients can receive fresh, healthy produce through the Holcomb Farm Fresh Access Program—made possible by the generosity of Wheeler’s donors and the Connecticut Department of Agriculture. It’s just one more way we’re here to help you nourish your body and support your health.
We can fill all medications (not just behavioral health) and for your whole family! Genoa can even mail all medications (at no extra cost) or you can pick them up curbside.
