Recovery, health and growth is possible at every stage of life. Wheeler's Community Justice Services provide the programming, support and resources you and your loved ones need to remain safely in your community. We work closely with the courts, and refer
Serves adults who are involved with the New Britain court system and who also have a significant mental health condition, or co-occurring mental health and substance abuse issues.
The Wheeler Adult Reentry Program serves individuals with behavioral health and substance use disorder returning to their communities in central Connecticut after incarceration.
Individual, group and family therapy to address problems associated with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, anger management, grief and loss, and other mental health issues. In many circumstances, Medicaid, commercial insurance or third-party payer covers service costs.
Wheeler’s Alternative in the Community programs offer community-based intervention services for adults involved with the court, probation, or parole. The program uses a curriculum-driven, evidence-based model designed to assess the needs of each individual and reduce their involvement in the criminal justice system.
Provides individuals arrested for domestic violence with the information and skills they need to change their behaviors and learn to improve their current and future relationships.
Offers specialized intervention and education to adults arrested for the first time for family violence crimes.
Wheeler's Parenting Education Program (PEP) is designed for parents with active divorce, separation or custody cases in the Family Division of the Connecticut court system. The program educates parents about the many issues children face when the structure of the family changes. The fee is $150, payable online, by cash, or money order, and is required upon arrival to the program prior to being admitted to the group. Wheeler’s Pre-trial Alcohol Education Program serves individuals, ages 18+, arrested for the first time for driving or boating while intoxicated. The program includes assessment and assignment to either a 10- or 15-week psycho-educational group experience.
Wheeler’s Pretrial Drug Education Program serves individuals, ages 18+, charged with possession of drugs or drug paraphernalia for the first time. The program includes assessment and assignment to a 15-week educational group experience.
Serves individuals, ages 18+, arrested for the first time for driving/boating while intoxicated or possession of drugs or drug paraphernalia. The program includes assessment and assignment to either a 12-week psycho-educational group or treatment.
