Dina Roche, MD, has joined Wheeler Health, providing care at Wheeler’s Family Health & Wellness Center in New Britain and on Wheeler’s Mobile Family Health & Wellness Center in Hartford.
Dr. Roche’s path into family medicine has been shaped by a consistent commitment to meeting people where they are clinically, physically, and personally. She most recently completed her family medicine residency at Middlesex Hospital, where she focused on community health, addiction medicine, refugee health, correctional medicine, women’s health, pediatrics, homelessness, and other specialties.
“I'm excited to join Wheeler and to keep doing the kind of work that drew me to becoming a family doctor in the first place: accessible, holistic, person-centered care,“ Dr. Roche says.
“Dr. Roche has consistently demonstrated a passion for helping patients with their recovery through medications for substance use disorders, as well as working with communities often overlooked by the health care system, including people returning to the community after incarceration,” said Dr. Rebecca Eleck Bruce, Wheeler’s primary care medical director. “She naturally understands our work at Wheeler and the vital role of community health centers in our state, providing care for more than 450,000 residents every year.”
At Wheeler, Dr. Roche will serve as the family medicine physician at Wheeler’s federally qualified health center at 40 Hart Street, New Britain, serving both pediatric and adult patients, as well as provide medical care two days a week in Hartford on Wheeler’s second Mobile Family Health & Wellness Center. The mobile center offers primary care and connects patients with behavioral health, addiction treatment, care management and other Wheeler services when needed. During fall 2026, the mobile center will provide care at the Hartford YMCA, Hartford Public Library, The Drop, a drop-in day center and harm reduction facility, and other community sites.
