A Community Baby Shower for expectant families and new parents living in Hamden, New Haven, Middletown, Meriden, Old Saybrook, and surrounding areas will take place on July 16 from 2 to 6 pm at the Dixwell Community House (Q House) in Room 112, 197 Dixwell Avenue in New Haven, CT. The event will include information and resources from a variety of community providers and partners (WIC, local Home Visiting Programs, Birth to Three, and others) who serve expectant and new parents, as well as giveaways, door prizes, car seat safety clinic, and more. The event is hosted by Wheeler, SEPI-CT, and the Dixwell Community House, and funded by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
CT’s Substance Exposed Pregnancy Initiative of Connecticut (SEPI-CT), administered by Wheeler and funded by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and Connecticut Department of Children and Families, is available to ensure that Connecticut families have access to the treatment, recovery, and support they need, including prevention of prenatal alcohol exposure.
