Integrating Finance, Community, and Care

October 16, 2025

Kaitlin Librizzi, CPA, brings deep financial and insurance expertise, and a heartfelt commitment to community, to Wheeler’s volunteer Board of Trustees.

“It’s extremely important to give back to the communities where you live,” Kaitlin says. “I love that Wheeler is so close to my home, and I can truly see the impact of the work we’re doing.”

As a senior manager within the insurance practice at EY, Kaitlin played a key role on the audit team working on the landmark $69-billion acquisition of Aetna by CVS Health. She also served as an EY point of contact during Aetna’s state examinations, collaborating directly with regulators to discuss complex accounting and auditing topics.

“I entered an industry that you don’t learn much about in college,” she reflects. “It’s pushed me to be intellectually curious—to understand the inner workings of a complex system and how insurance fits into the larger puzzle of health care. I like connecting the dots—not just numbers and accounting, but the people, processes, and purpose behind them.”

Her familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid has already proved valuable during this fall’s discovery discussions between Wheeler and Community Health & Wellness Center of Torrington.

“Being in the insurance industry, I’ve witnessed multiple integrations between companies; figuring out how two organizations come together from both a financial and operational standpoint,” she says. “I see so many opportunities for Wheeler to grow and expand its impact through partnerships and its programs.”

Beyond her professional expertise, Kaitlin leads with energy, empathy, and purpose. She currently serves as board president of the Northeastern Chapter of the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association (IASA), co-chairs EY’s Professional Women’s Network, and is a member of the firm’s Hartford People Advisory Board.

Previously, she spent five years on the audit and finance committees for Hartford Stage as part of its Stage One junior board, helping the organization navigate the severe challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Outside of work, Kaitlin’s life mirrors her enthusiasm for connection and community. A former NCAA student-athlete turned working mother of three, she prioritizes both physical and mental wellness and values Wheeler’s commitment to integrated, accessible care.

“As someone who’s seen firsthand the importance of taking care of both mind and body, I really connect with Wheeler’s mission,” she says. “Without access, it’s hard for anyone to make health a top priority. That’s why Wheeler’s work, ensuring high-quality care for everyone, is so meaningful to me.”
